Riding Lessons are available on Saturdays from 9am-noon 4 Lessons per month / makeup class for missed lessons on the last Thursday night of each month at 7pm. Student will need: Riding Helmet (ASTM Equine) smooth soled boots snug fitting blue jeans and a BIG SMILE! Parental Involvement/Supervision Required for all lessons. Private Lessons & Adult Lessons Also Available.

-BEGINNER          $150.00/per month                     Saturdays 9-10am     -INTERMEDIATE   $200.00/per month (child can trot/post) Saturdays 10-11am -ADVANCED         $220.00/per month                     Saturdays 11am-noon *Evaluation Lesson    $55.00/ for students seeking Intermediate or Advanced lessons.

Cutting, Barrel, Flag shows & Trick riding Teams.

the cognitive, physical, emotional, and social well being of children with disabilities.

Shelley Sumrall is a licensed and accredited Master Level Instructor in ALL riding disciplines.

Now as a Hippotherapist she continues to help ALL children ride to their greatest potential.
She will ensure proper horsemanship while building good safety skills and confidence in her riders.                                  

Order of Lessons

       Introduction/Goal
    1. Nature of the Horse— monomial/binomial
         Safety—how to walk around the horse
         Haltering—slip-knot, boss & partner, horse in lead, hold rope in a figure 8, use good
                       personal stance
         Horse feeling your movement—Exercise in the yard, water in the cup, lead rope
                       w/hands
    2. Western Seat/English Seat—Tack to use and name of tack
         Grooming before the ride—horse will act better when nothing is agitating him
         Saddling—proper placement & padding, on the horses body, mount/dismount—bridle & saddle
                    safety check
    3. Start, Stop, and Steer— bridle driving on the ground first (soft hand w/water) 
         Grooming after the ride—haltering to clean still 
    4. Start SCHOOL FIGURES

1. Change of rein across diagonal
2. Half Circles
3.  Half Circles in Reverse
4. Serpentine
5. Full Circle
6. SECURE SEAT 777-

8. Side Pass

   5. In preparation of Horse Ownership—Barn hygiene and sanitation, types of feed (diet
          & exercise), horse confirmation, round pen training
   6. Special Skills:
        Western Events—barrels, poles, mystery events, cutting, team penning, roping, and more!
        English Events—showing, jumping, dressage, etc.
